Disc Golf Course
Course Update 8/18/26: All 36 baskets are in the ground!
Volunteer crews were working hard over the last week digging holes, mixing concrete and assembling baskets. All baskets are now set and ready for some disc golf action! Please note that there are no tee pads and some tee pad locations still have uneven footing.
Course Details
Disc golf has been a part of Mt Telemark for many years, but the original course has since faded away into the woods. Due to the construction of many new mountain bike trails, this new course will have a completely different layout starting just steps away from the Mt. Telemark Village Hub.
The course was designed to be enjoyed by players of all ability levels and has 2 Innova DISCatcher Tour baskets per hole set in long and short positions. Fairways are mostly wooded utilizing old cross country ski trails with a few open field shots on the lower portions of the original downhill ski runs. By constructing this course, we aim to offer a community space to hold youth “learn to play” clinics, tournaments, and add yet another way to stay active in the outdoors.
Course is Open For Play! Crews are still working on clearing fairway edges, pruning trees, and prepping tee pad locations, but the course is open to throw if you want to check it out!

A borrow bin with a selection of drivers, midranges, and putters and bags is located at hole 1. Please return items when finished so the next group can enjoy- thanks! While the disc golf course sleeps during the winter months, we turn the fairways into a 1.25 mile snowshoe trail. Check it out this winter to see a preview of things to come! Start under the Trek Trails Powered by OTM archway outside of the Hub and head uphill to hole one. Follow the yellow trail blazes around the loop. Short on time? Check out our short .5 mile loop which follows the first three holes before looping back.
During the winter months, this Short Cut Loop is also home to the Birkie Wild Trail Activity which features 8 stations of trivia, jokes, and activities. Great motivation for kids (and kids at heart). Click here to view the snowshoe trail map.
For those not familiar with this sport, the general rules of the game closely resembles golf except you use discs (similar but smaller than Frisbees) instead of clubs. Each person takes turns throwing from the designated tee pad. Once all shots are thrown, the group walks down the fairway and the person who is farthest from the basket shoots next. It is common courtesy for the group to stay behind the player throwing. Watch for other park users when throwing and announce an errant shot by yelling “FORE!” Each throw down the fairway is counted as 1 stroke with the last stroke landing inside the cage of the basket. The player with the lowest amount of strokes at the end of the round wins.
At this course, each hole has two permanent basket options (Innova DISCatcher Tour) to shoot to. If you are looking for a shorter and slightly easier course, shoot to the GREEN baskets. Looking for more challenges? Shoot to the ORANGE baskets for longer distances and more difficult lines. Course par and distance information coming soon!
The PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association) has great information on disc golf basics as well as history of the sport. Playing eighteen holes can sometimes take two hours to play (depending on the length of the holes) and is a great way to stay active. Disc golf is a growing sport with courses all across the world (Check out UDisc for course directories and more)!
Disc golf courses are more easily maintained and have less environmental impact than a ball golf courses. No water is required to maintain a disc golf course, no greens, just the greenery of the landscape around you!
Important Announcement
We may have reached out goal to raise $25,000 but you can still donate to support course construction! There are baskets and tee pads available for sponsorship – donate at the Eagle level or above to get your name/business logo permanently mounted out on the course! But don’t delay, once our kiosk sign is made, the benefit of getting your name on that sign will be discontinued from all donation levels.
