Donate & Join the Village!

This is a $10.2 million project for the Birkie, but the reality is that the broader vision is even bigger. The Trek Foundation and One Track Mind have made the bike trails possible. Lodging is provided by Home Base and camping by Telemark Stays. LHB has provided the visioning and the architectural work. New Moon Ski & Bike is providing rentals, repairs and beer; Trek Bikes is providing rentals and demos; and Backroads Coffee will have coffee and treats! Landmark Conservancy helped us permanently protect much of the land and the independent homesites development, Telemark Hills, will provide a beautiful recreational neighborhood while preserving access to trails. The town of Cable, Bayfield County and the State of Wisconsin have all helped in a big way along with countless donors and other local community groups.

Conservancies

Landmark Conservancy has been a huge partner on this project. They purchased 286 acres, put that land in conservancy so that it is protected forever, and then provided easements to the Birkie so that we can run our trails across the land. They partnered with the Birkie in order to help the Birkie put another 200+ acres into conservancy as well. All told, Landmark and the Birkie have permanently protected over 500 acres of land so that we can all enjoy the amazing recreational opportunities and beauty of the area forever.
